Sustainability Ambassadors

Sustainability Ambassadors is a nonprofit organization with the mission to “rapidly advance a sustainable future.” They are building a City/Classroom Climate Action Plan Coalition to focus collective impact around the relationship between classroom learning and community action.

They support secondary teachers in increasing student agency and belonging by integrating localized phenomena into existing curriculum frameworks. We facilitate problem-based, place-based learning strategies, and integrate CTE STEM connections with Civics, Common Core, and the Arts, around the principles of Educating for Sustainability.

They also facilitate a year-round Youth Leadership Development Program training students in the IP3 Strategy which includes: (1) impact project design, (2) impact data tracking, and (3) impact storytelling and stakeholder engagement. Sustainability Ambassadors is a learning organization. They are committed to organizational practices that decentralize decision making, adapt programs and actions to support localized needs, learn rapidly as a broad coalition of empowered change makers, including youth, and practice collective impact by measuring program efficacy in context of improved community conditions.
